We have been running a beautifully situated ranch with horses, cattle and hunting in New Mexico, USA, near the state border with Colorado in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains for almost 10 years.
The breathtaking sunrises and the beautiful sky inspired us when we designed our brand. A bottle of good red wine helped.

The La Mesa brand stands for "Rising sun at the Mesa"
La Mesa is the Spanish word for table or table mountain.

New Mexico and Colorado are so-called "brand inspection states" in which cattle have to be branded with the ranche's own brand 30 days after the transfer of ownership by the new owner. This is not mandatory for horses, but is recommended by the brand inspector to protect against theft. The brand is now also a trademark for a ranch.

In the last 4 years of our stay in the USA we had also established a ranch in Marietta, Oklahoma - in the middle of the Reining Horse Country - with a breeding farm.
